In Memoriam

6 September 1941 – 9 July 2011

We are very sad to announce the passing of our esteemed patron Mr Jonathan Windram Miller. Jonathan passed away on 9 July 2011 following a brief battle against Leukaemia.

Jonathan was a generous man, devoted to his work with charities, one of which was the MAE Foundation. Jonathan was supportive of our founder, Richard Harvey’s, vision from the outset and he was one of the first of the MAE Foundation personnel to visit the refugee camps where the charity now operates. Jonathan was a music enthusiast and the Foundation’s aim to help children through music lessons resonated with Jonathan’s own priorities and goals in life.

The other charities that Jonathan supported were the ‘Education Development Projects Trust’, ‘Education for the Children Foundation’ and ‘Andalucian Rescue Centre for Horses (A.R.C.H.)’ The MAE Foundation gains inspiration from these charities and we will not forget the connection with them that was forged by Jonathan.

At Jonathan’s funeral, his family played one of his favourite songs from the MAE Foundation’s first song book, ‘By Moonlight’. Music made an impact on Jonathan’s life, and he had a huge influence on us all. We so valued his input in the charity, and we will miss him terribly.
